The southern Brazilian island of Florianopolis is one of the most popular destinations for stars and those who like to have some fun in the sun. It has become the newest property and holiday hotspot in the country. Many celebs and stars can be spotted here, particularly at this time of year. Prince Pierre Casiraghi of Monaco has been spotted here, as well as Ben Harper and Stavros Niarchos. This island is about 450 miles south of Rio de Janeiro and has become the trendy new hot spot in South America. Full of bars, nightclubs and discos, there is plenty to do all night long, and plenty of beaches on which to sleep the day away.

The most popular area for partiers and fun seekers is Jurere Internacional, a resort on the northern end of the island. It is home to several well known restaurants and clubs, including the Praia Café, Parador 12 and Pacha. Pacha has a 15,000 seat outdoor concert area, and Jack Johnson and Amy Winehouse are some of the entertainers booked for later in the year.

Surfers love the Praia Mole, an ideal beach for enjoying the waves along the east coast of the island. Inland is the town of Lagoa da Conceicao, a popular home for artists and intellectuals. Whatever you are looking for in Brazilian property or holiday hotspot, Florianopolis has it.
